PBA on TV-5? TV-5 now has a better chance to take the coverage of PBS 37th season after ABS-CBN pulled out of its bid and advised PBA Commissioner Atty. Chtio Salud.
“ABS-CBN has pulled out and informed us during Friday’s deadline for the submission of conforme for the terms of reference that they are no longer interested in making a bid," PBA commissioner Atty. Chito Salud told GMA News Online.
The PBA’s contract with Solar Entertainment ends on August and the current coveror had already notified the league earlier that they will no longer renew or make an attempt to bid for the coverage.

Though TV-5 left as a lone bidder for PBA it does not automatically make made them as the official coveror of the 37th Season of League. The only stumbling block is probably the fact that the owners of TV 5 also own Talk ‘N Text and Meralco, two teams playing in the PBA. That may open questions on conflict of interest.
TV5 executives are scheduled to make a formal presentation of their financial and marketing proposals to the PBA Executive Committee and Management Committee on Friday as reported by GMA.
