When Jane Marple goes to stay with her old, and rather frail, friend Carrie-Louise at her sprawling Victorian Gothic mansion, she soon begins to realize that all is not well there. Not only is this the family home but it is also a rehabilitation center for delinquent boys, and there are definitely some odd characters living there.Then an attempt is made on the life of Carrie-Louise\'s husband, her stepson is shot to death, and someone tries to poison Carrie-Louise. Can Miss Marple protect her friend and help the police unmask a brutal, and possibly deranged killer?
