Nicholas Cage Coppola was born in Long Beach, California on January 7, 1964. His father was a college literature professor and his uncle is Hollywood movie director, Francis Ford Coppola. His parents had divorced in 1976 when Nick was just 12 years old. He had graduated from Beverly Hills High School. Nicolas changed his last name to Cage in honor of a Marvel comic superhero named, Luke Cage. His fist acting gig was in 1980 when he worked as an extra on the TV show, Brubaker. Since then he had been in 60 movies. Lately, Cage has been in the news for tax associated problems with many of the homes that he owns. He also made a record purchase of a Lamborghini Miura SVJ for 490,000 in 1997. Cage has an avid follower of comic books and once owned the finest collection. He also created a comic book with his son, Weston called Voodoo Child that was published by Virgin Comics. TMZ has reported that Mr Cage was arrested today for domestic violence and taunted the police to arrest him in, New Orleans, Louisana.
