Simon Cowell Talks: "American Idol," Producing TV, "X Factor" and What He Thinks of J. Lo and Steven Tyler

Simon Phillip  Cowell was interviewed by Piers Morgan on CNN and opened up about his personal life, the new show that he is producing, the X Factor and what he thinks of the new judges on American Idol. Mr Cowell was very friendly with Piers Morgan.  The two guys knew each other for some time and they both are from England. Piers was hired by Simon for "America's Got Talent."  Since the two were friends Simon was ready to open up about the direct questions that he was asked by Mr. Morgan.  Simon Cowell appeared to be very happy and was excited about his new show, The X Factor which will be premiering in the fall 2011.  The winner of the show will receive a 5 million dollar singing contract.  As for his marriage, Mr. Cowell always smiles when asked  about the date. He did indicate that he is very close to his mother and that she is one of the few women who actually have control of him. Most recently he was at home in London and rang his mom indicating that he wanted to come home to eat with her and she wanted to go out to a restaurant and he wanted her to cook the food because he loves her cooking.  His thoughts on American Idol is that the show is better this year.  He thought that last year did not work out with the judges.  His take on J. Lo is that 'she is a star and people like seeing her' and he thinks that 'Steven Tyler is very talented'.  'Randy had taken my place for he is the tough guy now and that is good.'
