Steve Carell and Will Ferrell on The Office, NBC |
Will Ferrell joined
The Office on NBC for a few guest appearances. It was reported that he will be on about 4 episodes. Most critics felt that he had done a good job and that he was a welcomed addition to the show that needed a little life. Some critics thought that Ferrell was not as funny as usual, but still enjoyed his presence on the show. Steve Carell will be leaving the show on April 28, 2011. He already has 3 movies in the plans to work on; The first is a comedy,
Burt Wonderstone about a magician. The second, is a more serious film entitled,
Dogs of Babel about a linguistics professor who finds his wife dead at home and the only witness was his dog. The story is about how he teaches his dog to uncover the mystery behind the death of his wife.
The third film is with actress Meryl Streep,
Great Hope Springs about a marriage therapist who tries to help a middle-aged couple get their marriage back on track. Change can be good both for the actor and the show. If Carell was getting bored with being on the show then it was time for him to go. NBC made a wise choice by inviting Will Ferrell to be on
The Office since he is so well liked and funny. It will not be surprising to see him become a regular on the show. Perhaps this was a test for the network and Ferrell to see if it is the right match.
