Death of a Jockey at Kentucky Derby's Churchill Downs: Michael Braze, 24 Year Old Jockey Found Dead in Parking Lot. Comes from Famous Jockey Family

Michael C. Baze was only 24 when he died. He was born on April 14, 1987.

It has been reported that 24 year old jockey, Michael C. Baze had been found dead in his Ford, Escalade which was parked in Kentucky Derby lot near the barn at Churchill Downs in Louisville. The jockey had been riding since he was 16 and came from a family of successful jockeys including his father, Tyler Baze  and uncle, Russell Baze. Michael had ridden the second place winner at the Derby this year, but his last mount was on April 29th, 2011. He was the leading rider at Arlington Park. To date there has been no foul play determined.
