"Carrie," Stephen King's First Published Book in 1973 that Became CLassic Horror Film Starring Sissy Spacek is Coming Back to the Big Screen: Marvel Comic Writer working on Script

According to the Hollywood Reporter, there is a remake of Carrie in the works to come back to the big screen.  The movie was released in 1975 starring Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie and John Travolta. It was directed by, Brian DePalma and the screenplay was based on the book written by, Stephen King. Carrie was Mr. Kings very first novel that was published by Double Day in 1973.  The book was almost destroyed for good when Stephen King threw the draft in the garbage when he wasn't happy with it.  His wife pulled it out and King was given a 2500 dollar advance on the book and later became a best seller. King has written 49 novels  and 7 are under the fictitious name, Ben Bachman. The new  script will be done by Aguirre Sacosa who writes comics for Marvel and also rewrote the Spiderman  Play on Broadway.  Prom is still very big these days with the kids in high school and if the film is updated in a fun way it will probably be a hit.  MGM and Screen Gems will be the distributor. King has ties to Marvel since 2005 with the Dark Tower Series that he had written for them.
