Yeah, this display is the newer and latest model (old was 2405wfp) and features adjustable stand, upgraded panel, usb hub and CF and other memory slots on the side built in.
i have this model and can add a 'highly recommend' for what it's worth. bright, amazing stand (up/down/swivel), and due to the extra inputs, i'm also currently using this for my PS3 and it looks amazing for games.
great price. if i didn't own one, i would buy this. best of luck.

As someone else mentioned, try running Disk Utility Repair Disk off of your install disc (while booted off it). Or, just reformat (which will erase the contents). The correct format would be "Mac OS Extended". That should give you a clean slate, provided there are no hardware issues (with the drive, in particular). Memory problems would show with different symptoms.
If those are the original discs, it should work. Though, from what I can find on the earliest model (desk lamp style), the minimum it shipped with was 10.1.3. If it was any later model, it should have shipped with 10.2. Original discs should be grey.
10.4, Tiger, should work just fine on that model. I used to run it on a slower 667MHz PowerBook.
According to EveryMac.com Apple iMac G4/700 (Flat Panel) Specs (http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/stats/imac_700_fp.html) shipped with 9.2.2 & X 10.1.2. Since we haven't been given any more info than it's a G4 iMac it's kind of hard to make specific recommendations.

touche.
I see where this si coming from though.
I think whats happening is Apple is expanding so quickly that its harder for them to keynote all the developments within apple.
Soon iPhone is going to be even bigger, and Mac will keep moving, growing, but not as fast as the iPhone.
Maybe one day well see seperate keynotes for each product/market line.
Either way Apple is going strong and the potential for iPhone (and Apple gadgets) and Mac OS X to move forward are huge.
No complaints here.
I just wish theyd say somethin about the bloody mac mini

I've had no issues with SL like you're describing, including the applications you've mentioned. Remember that crashing issues may or may not be related to the OS... there's as good a chance of the software application in question being at fault as SL.

I liked the hockey puck mouse and still use one on my G4 tower.
I thought the original Pro Mouse with the adjustment on the bottom was very good, the mouse with the scroll ball on top was just awful with how quickly it would gum up.
Now I'm happy with the Magic Mouse, happy after a bought a charger and a few sets of batteries to have on hand...

I need a case for my iPhone 4. I don't want it to be too bulky, and I don't need too much coverage.
Thanks!

I hate FileVault.
I don't think anyone likes it.
I'll try looking into this when I get home.

can you be more specific on what you mean by "replacement iphone" please?
is it a refurbished iphone, or did they give you a brand new iphone?
i have a 16gb ipod touch coming in tomorrow, and i would like to have email on my iphone as well as a calendar feature.

I have not "switched"... I still use both a PC and a Mac now.
The adjustment is simple, and it is easy to maintain files, etc. The main difference, in my opinion, is that Mac OS has a much "thinner" feel to it.
It is a snappier OS, sleeps better and wakes up faster, and is pretty easy to manage.
It is also a bit easier to install and uninstall, though it takes some getting used to.
The two major issues, hands down (despite what Apple fanboys will tell you), is that you will run into apps and hardware that will only work on a PC, and also that the hardware is under powered (both in terms of availability and cost) compared to what you can get on a PC.
Threads like this all over the web, so read up.
FWIW, I really love this little 13" MBP. It is highly portable and for what I do, it is a perfect compliment to my awesome desktop and work laptop PCs.

Oh wow! Thats amazing! Thanks a lot man! I'll give it try on Sunday/Monday when I see my dad. It seems logical. I can't find the setting on my iPhone, but perhaps because I don't sync my contacts with an Exchange account (and the setting is hidden).
I'll report back in a few days. Thank so much! Owe you a drink cuppa :D

I doubt that the iPad 2 will ship with 4.2.1 Just because the GM was released to developers today doesn't mean that apple hasn't been sitting on it for a week or two.
We can hope though.....

Is there any advantage to pairing an ipad 2 and a macbook pro together via bluetooth? Any practical applications that this can be used for?
