Friend of mine got her DL renewed for 1 yr based on EAD as her h1b extension is not approved yet.DMV ppl look at her EAD and renewed her DL for 1 yr without any questions. So i guess you are fine with yr DL extension for 1 yr. As per my understanding and some of the posts , i think you won't loose yr H1b status as you are not using EAD for employment. And answer to yr last question is my frd got her DL renewed in VA only. She got it at DMV on Gallows Road, VA (it's in Fairfax,VA). Hope this helps.

Talk with hospitals in your area. May be $10K for the expense, if you didn't find any insurance to cover the pre-existing condition.

it is possible for company B to apply as a future employee. But if you do not join company B after the GC is approved, it constitutes fraud on your part and that of the company.

What's depressing about the process is that it takes so long for greencard that people dont even remember their priority date by the time they get greencards.

This word, "Sometime" shows the delay.
In America, glaciers move faster then the Greencard process.
That's the reason Universities are going to pay a dear price of all this when the next generation of potential students and research scholars dont come here.

Yes, your company can do that, however this can only be done for a period of 1 year.
This is what most of the consulting firms do...if you see most of their projects are never more than 1 year. This is a way to save taxes for employees and employer.
However, after 1 year you cannot claim any expenses. if the company allows it, then they will be in trouble and not you. Otherwise, find another project at least 50 miles away from your current location.
So what your company is doing is legal....

They can study without any issue.They dont need any permission. Universersities allow to study on H4. Only thing is they cannot work like an F1-student.
Can H-4 holder (Dependent) can pursue higher studies in the US. Do we need any special permission from the USCIS ?

Leaving with expired I-94 is no issues. My wife recently went India, gave expired i-94 on passport. She did not give the latest i-94 that came with her H4. She got visa stamped from India, and came back without any issues.

I wish my company attorney could understand the basic ENGLISH instructions. Worst part, still doesn't admit his mistake and keeps pointing to the receipt issued by USCIS.
Btw, I took Infopass appointment and went today to ask what should I do....given USCIS has issued receipt notice
The officer responded similar to my attorney's response, stating given that USCIS has issued receipt, they are working on my appl and I may not need to send the fee..BUT he admitted that the fee was required..
In short, still not sure what to do....

All the above answers are favor to the employer and not to us (employee).

Unfortunately I-485 class action is more complicated (different types of immigrant visas, different statutes, etc.). The only one I know of, ImmigrationPortal.Com v Ridge (03-cv-02606, District of Columbia, was not certified as class. Also, ACLU have little interest in pushing I-485 lawsuit as there is no immediate benefit, GC holders cannot vote. This may be another action item for IV - Immigrationportal suit failed in part because there was no organization behind the suit. Right now the majority is concerned about EAD/AP, but if FBI name check does not change, the wait can be decades based on the volume of applications and current "efficiency" of the FBI NNCP.
