Unfortunately it isn't since they aren't using the same chipset.
You could, however, upgrade the 8-core base model to a 12-core or upgrade the quad core base model to a single 6-core.
Would I need to get another mother board with that?
And Second, this might seem like an odd question (forgive me, im really not too knowledgable on this subject) but would I be able to keep the actual Quad Core processor and add that additional 6 core processor?

I have Logic 8 Express, but am hoping to upgrade to 9 Studio whilst still at university (lovely discount :D ). On the interface front, I would not buy through the apple store as very expensive. Try somewhere like dolphin music (www.dolphinmusic.co.uk) or Guitar, Amp and Keyboard Centre (www.gak.co.uk). These are both reputable music stores.

I would buy 2 Airport Expresses. I would connect my MBP to one AirPort Express (no internet connection needed), and then have the AirPort Express create a wireless network, which I could then connect the second AirPort Express to using my MBP. The just plug speakers in the Expresses on opposite sides of the room, and I'll be good to go, correct?

Use RapidWeaver, seriously, it's the best app for making easy, fast, and good looking websites. The site in my link was made using RapidWeaver, and version 3.2 is coming out this October. The software is shareware, I think the cost is $35~. You don't need to know anything about HTML, you don't need to use any tags unless you are using the sidebar, which is usually for really simple stuff. You can make blogs with comments and RSS and a lot of other stuff. This app has everything.

Bootcamp isn't virtualisation, aslong as the drivers are good it should be the same/very similiar to a equal spec PC.

Personally I find that I can type much faster and more comfortably on a shallow keyboard like a PowerBook keyboard than on a deep keyboard (like an old original IBM keyboard). I have one of the classic IBM style keyboards hooked up to my PC, and I don't like it much. If I were going to buy a new keyboard, I'd go for something like the Icekey.

That my 2008 iMac is one of the affected ones of the infamous 8800 GS card failures.
After gaming today, the computer completely locked up. Tried several reboots, but the computer just freezes and the screen flickers a little. The odd thing is though, that the mouse pointer still works.
I'm almost certain this is a gfx card issue because these model iMac's have been known to fail. The HDD was just replaced this year, so it can't be that.
The GPU temperature is around 150F...
Anyway, what do you think Apple will tell me? I bought this computer on December 25, 2009 so I still have one year and a half left on Applecare.

lol, good thing you sold it, but he paid high for a used shuffle. 99$ seems like a great price shipped but I hate the fact that the shuffle shuffles!
What you don't get is that it was new. Do you know what NEW is> Never used, never turned on, never operated. Only the seal was broken at the Apple Store. Nothing was disturbed. Shuffle still in it's plastic wrap.
