    Agreed.

When working with multiple formats, it's advisable to conform everything to one codec. If I were you, I'd transcode everything to the lowest denominator (in your case, standard-def at 4:3 or 16:9 aspect, depending on your delivery needs) and use a good intermediate codec like ProRes 422.

Doing that would eliminate the need to render the timeline constantly and deal with frame scaling from multiple formats of video sitting in the same sequence.

That other useless feature - the shutdown - made the dialog pop up again. Now I can finally turn that vault off :-)

Thank you guys! I will never turn this on again.

What operating system and browser are you using?

The Apple symbols that you're able to see are just GIF images (one of the smilies provided by this message board is an Apple logo.) You can see this one (:apple:), because it's just an image. But you can only see this one () if you have the necessary fonts installed, which all iOS devices and Macs should.

I'm running Leopard on my MDD using Firefox. My windows pc doesn't display it either, and it doesn't display if I switch to 9.2 on my MDD either.

Good time to buy in my book. Apple stock in particular, especially because of all the release events in the pipe line this year.

    This.

Except Apple stock seems like a terrible time to buy, with Steve Jobs' current health issues.

It's animated to do what? Turn from black to black? ;) :D
Well yes, but it changes from black to black ten times a second, so you are presented with the illusion of a static black image.

So, there's no audiophile grade headphone amp inside a MacBook Pro unfortunately. Still, there can be tremendous variation between the quality of the headphone output on a laptop.

What did you think of the sound when you tried your headphones on your MacBook Pro? How about if you connect a pair of high impedance cans?

    I want that:
if value in the first component is cars, the second component is mustang the fisrst label must show "1970" and the second label must show "v8"

You're just not making a lot of sense to me either. It sounds like you are saying you have four components; vehicles, model, year, engine. Maybe your example mistakenly leads me to that conclusion. Your first post clearly says you have two components.

    If by labels you mean the value that is selectable, than please refer to that as a component title, as that corresponds to the method name;
    - (NSString *)pickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView titleForRow:(NSInteger)row forComponent:(NSInteger)component

You need to clearly express in much more detail what it is you are looking at doing. Brevity is your enemy when asking programming questions.

Yes, I wouldn't have got it if it didn't

Even before I ordered my mac I knew I would need extension cables for the ACD because I read posts on how short the monitor's cables were and also saw it in the local Apple store. I contacted Dr. Bott to confirm their mDP cable supported audio passthrough.

FWIW: I bought my Dr. Bott cables from here:

    http://www.macproonline.com/Dr-Bott-Mini-DisplayPort/Displays/Accessories-for-your/-p8236146.html

I got it from Mac-Pro because (a) they were hard to get at the time (even Dr. Bott itself didn't have any, which apparently is the case even now -- just checked the 2m on their site (http://www.drbott.net/product/9378-MDEB/)) and (b) I found a bunch at Mac-Pro which is fairly close to where I live. Heh, the price there now looks a buck or two cheaper then I paid at the time!

Editorial: Many of the ads for these kind of cables are, IMO, incomplete since they also come with USB. So when they advertise the cable supports audio (generally they say "Audio and video passthrough" if they say anything at all) you can't tell for sure if the mDP supports audio in addition to the USB which of course supports audio. So what I do when faced with ambiguities is contact the manufacturers directly.

At least Monoprice, my preferred (first choice) place for ordering cables, is honest to say up front that their mDP cables don't support audio. They're a great place to order cables if the cables fulfill you needs.

Log into another fresh account. Make sure it works there. Then delete your actual account's finder preferences. That should do it.

Didn't work for me. I also see this on two different 10.7 installs. Using the keyboard shortcuts or the menu bar to arrange by still works just no right click.
See screenshot for list of keyboard shortcuts.

That's really the beauty of google voice, once you transisition to it you never have to worry about changing numbers again or giving people different numbers. You do have to make that initial transition and give all your contacts a new number BUT it's the last one you will have to hive them.

Does this provide a seamless way to transition from texting on my iPhone to texting on the iPad and vice versa? I wouldn't even dream of switching numbers unless the experience of sending and receiving texts was better than just using my phone.

Ended up getting what I wanted, 32gb black wifi. Was around 35 to 40 in line. Once the doors opened I was in and out by 5:30. Granted I could have gone to best buy or target to get but I actually like buying at apple store. Guess it's the experience and the people.

I was wondering if we could get an iOS forum as well, since there's one for Mac OS X, and none specifically for iOS (unless i'm blind). It seems that a lot of people are talking about iOS updates in the iPhone or iPad or iPod Touch forums.

    What do you guys think?
People discuss iOS in general when there's a news story about it (in the matching discussion thread) or from a programming point of view (for which there's a forum). Otherwise, they post about it in the forum for the device they are using. The question is whether they'd really switch to discussing it in a single iOS forum. I think some people would use the new forum but many others would not, so we'd end up further fragmenting those discussions. But you need a crystal ball to know these things for certain.

all the forums were shut down for an hour or two, so it might not have been a mistake, it might have been for everybody.

Questions regarding LaCie external drives come up pretty frequently around here. You might want to do a search.

I'll post what I've posted before: D2 more expensive but runs cool, Porsche cheaper but runs hot. Haven't had a Porsche enclosure drive fail (knock wood), but others have and blamed thermal issues. Porsches don't seem to have a fan at all.

    Good luck.
