"Transformers" Viral Video Suggesting Recycled Footage was Used for" Transformers: Dark of the Moon" from " Island 2005" film

There has been a lot of talk going on about this video on YouTube. It compares two Transformer films: The first was Island 2005 and the second is Transformer 3.  The one that was just released.  The implication is that director Michael Bay had used stock footage for some scenes.  There was a ton of product placement put in the film so why the need for stock footage when the studio knows the film will be a blockbuster?  Perhaps it was a mistake, but I give Michael Bay more credit than that. It was probably because the scenes were so generic he thought why waste the money on something that would look  the same after the scene was shot.   He probably decided to put the saved money in other scenes that would give more bang for his buck.
Do you think this is bad?  The film is a huge success and that is all that matters.
