It was reported by People magazine that Prince William will not be wearing a wedding band after he ties the knot with Kate Middleton. It is not tradition for the members of the Monarchy to sport a wedding band after marriage.  However, Kate Middleton will be wearing a very special  wedding ring that was a gift  from Prince William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.  It is considered very special since it is made out of Welsh gold which is considered to be extremely rare. The ring was kept in the royal vault for years for a very special occasion. The crown jeweler, Harry Collins will be responsible for adjusting the size to fit Ms. Middleton.
As for tradition, it was reported that Prince Charles does indeed sport a wedding band.
