Tim Robbins had grown up in Manhattan and studied at Stuyvesant High School and attended SUNY Plattsburgh for two years.  He later went on to UCLA to study film.  His father, Gilbert Lee, was a member of the Highwaymen.  His father who was 80 years old and mother, Mary was 78.  Both parents just passed away only 12 days apart. They were married for 59 years and had lived in Esteban Cantu, Mexico.  Mr. Robbins had a long term  relationship with actress, Susan Sarandan.  The couple had 2 children together.
