Barry Manilow to Release First Album in 10 Years: Singer known for "Mandy"

Barry Manilow was born on June 17,1943. His real name was Barry Alan Pivers, but later changed it to his mother's maiden name, Manilow.   He grew up in Williamsburgh section of Brooklyn, New York.  He had attended Julliard in New York City. He is best known for Mandy and the Cocabana.  At one point in his career he had 5 albums in 1975 on the best selling charts simultaneously.  It has been reported that the singer will make a return to the limelight with a new album in ten years.
