Mel Gibson Bombed at the Box Office this Weekend in "The Beaver." Film only drummed up 104,000 . Yikes!

The Beaver was directed by Jodie Foster and starred her friend, Mel Gibson. There were good comments about his acting in the film , but there were  not good numbers at the box office. The film was distributed to 22 theaters and earned a  tiny total 104,000 dollars. That is only 4,755 dollars per screen.  Mel Gibson created a lot of controversy with his girlfriend when she aired the tapes of him talking to her on the phone. Sometimes it is not enough to be a good actor and have a good script.  It also depends on how much the public like the actor. Perhaps his career is over and people don't want to see him any more.
