It is official that Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell are engaged.  Nancy is the second cousin to Barbara Walters and the two are very close. This will be Ms. Shevell's second marriage, and Paul's third.  His first wife, Linda lasted til her death in 1998. There were married since 1969 and met him when she was working as a photographer. Paul's second round at marriage was in 2002 when he had married Heather Mills.
