I visit MacRumors and Spymac on a daily basis. I come here for Apple news, and go to Spymac for the gallery and forums. Spymac is a very entertaining site, despite the iWalk "leak". Hell, Apple made big mistakes too but we still love them.

It's interesting to see all these disparate companies affected by one single supplier's faulty part. As I stated in the main thread about the issue, I'm glad I got my MBP now, before Apple adopts Sandy Bridge.

Now to address the question, you can certainly put a password on the network (using airport admin utility I believe). In addition you can make it so only specific computers may connect to your network, and so your network is hidden.

Thanks guys. I'm not trying to compose intricate sonnets, just some loops here and there. If you guys listen to electronic music you'll know it's largely comprised of simple loops. I guess I could use Garage Band's software keyboard to accomplish the same thing.

Hi,
I just switched from Windows to a Mac, and the only thing I miss is the way Firefox used to behave. I can't figure out what to do to get a browser I genuinely love.
First of all, Safari. I know a lot of people like it, and I tried to, but I hate it. It sticks and takes a ridiculously long time to load pages. I like the way it looks, the way the tabs function, etc., and could get a along with it just fine if it actually loaded pages swiftly. I have no idea how to fix that or if it's even possible.
Obviously not IE.
Firefox acts up on my mac. Sure, it's just as fast as it was on my PC, but eh. The themes won't skin properly, the extensions I cherished (TBE, for example) don't work properly, and generally it's just a big clunky headache compared to the other applications I've started to get used to. Sure, I miss my gmail notifier and the insanely useful Adblock and Sage RSS, and SuperDrag&Go, but all the other extensions I don't miss at all.
I've just tried Camino, and while it loads pages beautifully, it's not very pretty or very customizable, and the back/forward buttons only work half the time.
My choices seem to be: a sticky nightmare (Safari), a tchotche-filled mac-unfriendly ex flame (Firefox), or fast but user-unfriendly blandness (Camino). I'm really, really unhappy.
Any advice on what I can do to restore my former browsing bliss?

I am trying verify if data recovery is possible on a customers Macbook Air a1304 hard drive. Since Apple decided to use that 1.8" drive I am trying to find an adapter that will work in a desktop SATA or IDE that isn't some ridiculous price. The Air had water spilled on it so it will not turn on nor do I have another air to test it in.
From what I can find the Air uses a 1.8" ZIF drive. Would this ZIF CE 1.8 Microdrive to 3.5 40pin adapte (http://www.amazon.com/ZIF-1-8-Micro-Drive-Adapter/dp/B004AXDA82)r work. Perhaps this Toshiba 1.8 ZIF to 2.5 IDE (http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-1-8-Zif-2-5-Connector/dp/B0018S9RQG) (I have an external enclosure that works with the 2.5 IDE). I also found this external USB enclosure (http://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Enclosure-1-8-inch-Toshiba-Connector/dp/B0037FR27E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1302904126&sr=8-2). There is even this uber cheap adapter for 1.8 zif to 2.5 IDE (http://www.amazon.com/ZIF-1-8-Inch-Toshiba-Adapter/dp/B004AA5WRW/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1302904126&sr=8-7).

I think you're all a bit confused about this piece of news. Localization is nothing new. There are already plenty of localized apps in the store.
What's new is that Apple is adding support for these six new languages in addition to the ones already supported.
Therefore, overall impact on the store and relevant procedures is, at best, minimal.

I did just that, threw my unused iPhone 4 sim in my new iPad 2 and got a nasty message this morning from AT&T basically telling me that I had 30 days to get a proper plan on it or I would be cut off.
I called AT&T and had them switch my iPhone 4 plan to the iPad post pay plan and it's all good!
I was actually surprised that they did it, but ask for a supervisor. The front line reps are not trained well on the new post pay plans.
If you just want to do it occasionally, you probably should be fine but just be aware that they can almost immediately tell if you switch em.
