Nyx Girls Polish: The ones I haven't shown...One of them's pink.

Well it's of course Wednesday...So that means pink. I'm still just using China Glaze Calcium Fortifier on my nails. That has a pink tinge in the bottle...?

But luckily I have some more Nyx Girls polishes to show. These are most definitely the brightest of the bunch I have! One of them's a pink...so it counts for Pink Wednesday...

Bermuda Triangle...more aqua toned, but you know those colours are horrible to capture!
Blue Ink...a creme compared to Ink Hearts jelly.
Rum Punch...pink...PINK
Grapefruit...Who eats grapefruit this colour...? Pretty neon red all the same.
Bubblegum...ok seriously in my mind bubblegum is pink. Yea I knew I was ordering a yellow, I just hoped it was more opaque.

Quick Haul-erific Post

I've still been struggling with this head cold and I have a meeting tonight at the bank. Which hopefully leads to me having money...so hopefully we get to go out for dinner!

I have an afternoon tea for my wedding this Saturday and then a few of the girls are spending the night in the city with ideas of seeing a movie, eating and maybe some drinking...
So I'm not sure I'll get anything posted this weekend!

Wednesday was a super awesome day for me. I came home to 3 parcels. One was a book, one was my beautfiul Lord of the Rings blurays...extended versions that are sold out everywhere. The last was my Beauty Joint order. OMG Beauty Joint I love you. My parcel came so fast and was so well packaged. Seriously less than a week to get to New Zealand.

Anyway on to pictures!

Mermaid Green, Pistachio, Lapis, Golden Lavender, Paradise Nude and Dorothy

Chunky Holo polishes: Bluebell, Teal, Purple, Fuchsia, Poppy and Black.

NYX I dream of St Thomas palette.

Look at that green shadow....it's amazing!

Round Lipticks: Iconic, Blush, Haute Couture, Shiva and Peach Bellini. NYX Plump it Up in Pamela

Peach Bellini, Shiva, Haute Couture, Blush and Iconic

2012 Crackles: Prayer, Virgin, Prophecy and Sinner

Nyx Girls Polish: The Glitters

When I placed y NYX order...ok orders...a wee while ago I went a little crazy on some of the gorgeous glitters that they have. I love all but one of these glitters, but I'll ramble about that some more soon. First some pictures!

Dreamy Glitter over Bella.
Dreamy Glitter is a very pretty glitter with iridescent larger hex's and small glitters and large pink stars. Very pretty and very girly. I had no trouble fishing the hearts out which was great!

Gilded Glitter over Hunter Green
Gilded Glitter is pretty awesome. It really does look like 24k gold flakes have been carefully placed on to your nails. This was one coat.

Sparkles over Black
I kind of hope that Sparkles would be the silver version of Gilded Glitter. It's not. These glitter pieces are very much so regular. It's still a pretty true silver glitter.

Carnival over Ink Heart
Well Carnival is yet another Happy Birthday look a like. I might donate it to mum, try and convince her to wear some glitters! I already own Happy Birthday and Milani Gems (the pink glitter version) so I'm not sure I need Carnival as well.

Alps Bunny over Finger Paint Carnation Creation
This is the only one not pictured over another NYX girls polish. I just happened to be playing with the Finger Paints polish and thought Alps Bunny would look pretty. Alps Bunny is a pretty glitter topper, it reminds me of Color Club Starry Temptress, which I love.

Enchanted Forest over Bermuda Triangle
So much promise... But argh, I hate this polish. This is 3 coats. 3 watery impossibly horrible coats. There are larger hex's in there somewhere, but I tried and tried to fish one out... It was just too thin. Maybe I'll leave the lid off a few days and hope it goes tackier... It was just such an awful water consistency
.
Grand Royal over Blue Ink
Grand Royal reminds me of Revlon Belle. Its a pretty silver glitter with larger hex glitter. This was one coat.
It could be built up more, but I haven't tried it out.

Dynamic Glitter over Grapefruit
Dynamic Glitter is very reminicsent off OPI Teenage Dream, I'll have to do a comparison at some point. Other than that...at one coat it looks very much like the pink version of Grand Royal.

I didn't try any of these polishes alone. I felt they were best as layering polishes, so I can't tell you if any can achieve opaqueness.

Nyx Girls Polish: The Browns

Well it's Tuesday morning. Tuesday is my least favourite day of the week. I'm on duty morning tea and first half of lunch, then we have a staff meeting. It just feels busy and full on. I don't get a break until the second half of lunch. So I don't have that chance to sort things out if I need to. At least I have teacher aide time this morning. Hopefully I'll be able to keep doing some reading testing.

Anyway enough of me moaning about Tuesday...here's some more Nyx Girls polishes. The browner shades today. My mum has actually claimed most of these, but that's ok they're not too far away if I want them.

Nyx Girls Polish: The Blacks

I sent part of Saturday finishing swatching my NYX Girls polishes. I hate to swatch with a broken nail, but I decided to get over myself and get it done. After all I have had the polishes a month or so and I have been procrastinating posting the rest of my swatches. I kept thinking "I can't post until I've swatched them all". Well not if I've been grouping them by colour!

These are the blacks and darkened shades that I have. You're lucky...these are before break pictures! Well before this recent break, my middle finger was still growing out.

Nyx Girls Polish: The Blues

Opps, I was a bad blogger this morning...I had every intention to post, but wow was my bed comfy!

My horrible break is starting to grow, I see a slither of white appearing where my nail tip used to be. It's now been 3 days since it broke...:( I know I'm pathetic, lol.

Anyway I need to snap out of my woe is me moment. I've been meaning to post the rest of the NYX Girls polishes I purchased way back when Cherry Culture was 50% off. I still have the last few polishes (by few I mean 8 or so) to swatch. I've been waiting for the sun, and now we get some sun I've broken my nail! Anyway they'll just have to wait for another day...at least until I have a little more growth. It's tricky to paint my break at the moment.

Here are my NYX Girls polishes in blue...

Sea of Cortez
Why yes....it does rather look like a Charla/Hayleys Comet/Catch Me in Your Net dupe! Personally I prefer Catch Me In Your Net. It's slightly different...but you'd hardly notice unless you swatched them all together. Very pretty, but I do have my favourite already.

Inkheart
ohhhh...did I buy this one just for the name...yup! I love the Inkworld books. It's a gorgeous dark blue jelly and I'm very much so looking forward to playing with layering some of my Nail Prisms over it.

Hot Blue
Well they got one thing right...this blue is hot! Seriously it's hot. Bright blue, but not neon, but oh so close. Gorgeously creamy as well.

Indigo Blue
Ok...I don't get it. How is this indigo? Indigo is an awesome name. Did you know one of the first English men to do the grand tour back in the day was Indigo Jones... Doesn't he sound all kinds of awesome. Maybe it's just because it sounds like Indiana Jones...hahaha. Anyway Indigo Blue...yea...I don't see the indigo but it is a pretty, though rather sheer, glass flecky blue.

Well hope you enjoyed the blue's I purchased. I have another I haven't been able to swatch. Bermuda Triangle will have to wait for another day.

Small Haulies?

Well I'm sure I mentioned that my last NYX parcel arrived, but I never got round to posting pics. My Serena Williams sets also arrived and I was naughty and bought a polish at Farmers yesterday. I try to avoid buying from Farmers unless things are on special...but this polish was an exception.

So onward...

My last NYX parcel included 10 nail polishes and one Black Label Lipstick in Princess. I haven't taken a picture of Princess yet, but here's the polish!

Dynamic Glitter, Grand Royale and Enchanted Forest
Rum Punch, Grape Fruit, Red Bean Slush and Collection Noir

Ink, Bermuda Triangle and Bubblegum
And of course my awesome OPI Serena Williams sets. I bought one for mum as well, seeing as she loves crackle so much.

White Shatter, Spak de Triomphe, Red Shatter, Rally Pretty Pink
And of course my absolute splurge polish. I actually ended up paying $30.95 for this...yes that's really bad lol. But look at it in the sunlight...pretty. Yes I know other people have found it disappointing, but I still really wanted it! Butter London No More Waity Katie.

Well yesterday I spent the day re-arranging my house...there isn't a room I didn't mess with. I've moved all my polish and a little table into the study to make a nail polish corner. Now I'm on the hunt for some big frames to put up my Serenity travel posters...

Have a fabulous rest of the weekend, while I, and everyone else in New Zealand begin Monday.

Black Label...Nyx of Course!

The term Black Label makes me think of alcohol...:S but these are most definitely not alcoholic!
These are of course my new Black Label Lipsticks that I ordered from the Nyx mega sale.

I ordered six in total...but beware it's even harder to find colour accurate swatches for the Black Labels than it is for the Round Lipsticks! I love four of the shades I bought...

We'll start of the more neutral toned ones.

India, Nude and Natural in natural light.
India, Nude and Natural with flash.
You can probably guess which two I didn't love. But lets continue...

India
Ahhhh India is awful. The formulae is great, it's pigmented enough. But omg ewww. I was hoping for a nice coral peachy shade...but this is just not what I wanted.I can't make it work today. Maybe when I'm less sick I'll give it another chance...but ahhhhh. Oh and excuse the horrid application of these two...I really did dislike them that much!

Nude
Another ewwwwww! Nude is just hideous on me.It's too pale for my pale face. I can make Orange Soda work, but Nude...no!

Natural
Luckily I bought Natural. Natural is amazing I can't sing it's praises enough. It's my new favourite lipstick. I'd wear this anywhere and everywhere. It's got warmth and a bit of a colour kick but it's still subtle and understated. Perfect!

And on to the pink tones...which I love! It's just unfortunate that India and Nude both look so hideous on me.

Diva, Heather and Off the Beaten Path in natural light.
Diva, Heather and Off the Beaten Path with flash.
Diva
Very nice natural mauve tone. I think this might be comparable to B52, but haven't tried it out together yet. Either way I really like Diva. I had a hard time deciding between Diva and Heiress, but I think I made the right choice.

Heather
I already have a Nyx lipstick called Heather. It's a mauve with shimmer...This is a really pretty pink, with no shimmer. I find a lot of pinks hard to wear. They're too bright or too princessy or too frosty. This is perfect. Heather is my new favourite pink. I wonder how it compares to Tea Rose my old favourite pink...

Off the Beaten Path
Off the Beaten Path was my wild card lipstick. The one I threw in just because I wanted to see how it turned out. Well...I have to say I love it. Warm pink with a hint of coral and not too bright. Awesome!

Actually the four that I love are my four favourite lipsticks ever right now. I'll have to compare them to my round lipsticks at some point. maybe this weekend.
