Well I feel rather awful...darn this head cold that seems to be starting. I was healthy yesterday...Then yesterday night, BAM! Head cold.

Teaching 24 six year olds is not the easiest when all you want is peace and quiet. I'm sure 6 year olds don't know the real meaning of quiet! I have some who still can't talk in indoor voices. I actually asked one parent if their child had, had their hearing tested recently...apparently they had with an all clear :S

Anyway here's some old pictures of bright pretty polishes to cheer me up and get me out of the winter head cold doldrums. These are all Nicole by OPI.

I'm the Luckiest Girl in the World...

To have received these gorgeous  swap polishes.

Liz from Liquid Jelly sent me these beautiful polishes that had me jumping up and down and squealing excitably.

Nicole by OPI Make a Comet-ment
This was the polish that started it all. The reason why we swapped...I just had to have Make a Comet-ment. It's such a pretty holo silver glitter. This was three coats and I loved it. It's also very suitable to wear as a touch of glitter topcoat. So sparkly and pretty.

Finger Paints Carnation Creation
I love turquoise/aqua/teal shades. They are my absolute favourite colours. So of course I love Carnation Creation. This polish was a little thicker, but it did mean if you are careful you might get away with one coat. I used two.

Sephora by OPI Hell to the No
I was so excited when Liz said she would send me two Glee polishes. I love Hell to the No. I used three coats and the colour is absolutely gorgeous. The gold shimmer is just so pretty. I can't express how much I love it!

Liz was also kind enough to send me Who Let the Dorks Out which is another stunning polish from the Glee collection that I absolutely love. For some reason I can't seem to find my pictures. So I'll have to take some new ones when my nails grow out a little more again after their trim at the optometrists.

Small Haulies?

Well I'm sure I mentioned that my last NYX parcel arrived, but I never got round to posting pics. My Serena Williams sets also arrived and I was naughty and bought a polish at Farmers yesterday. I try to avoid buying from Farmers unless things are on special...but this polish was an exception.

So onward...

My last NYX parcel included 10 nail polishes and one Black Label Lipstick in Princess. I haven't taken a picture of Princess yet, but here's the polish!

Dynamic Glitter, Grand Royale and Enchanted Forest
Rum Punch, Grape Fruit, Red Bean Slush and Collection Noir

Ink, Bermuda Triangle and Bubblegum
And of course my awesome OPI Serena Williams sets. I bought one for mum as well, seeing as she loves crackle so much.

White Shatter, Spak de Triomphe, Red Shatter, Rally Pretty Pink
And of course my absolute splurge polish. I actually ended up paying $30.95 for this...yes that's really bad lol. But look at it in the sunlight...pretty. Yes I know other people have found it disappointing, but I still really wanted it! Butter London No More Waity Katie.

Well yesterday I spent the day re-arranging my house...there isn't a room I didn't mess with. I've moved all my polish and a little table into the study to make a nail polish corner. Now I'm on the hunt for some big frames to put up my Serenity travel posters...

Have a fabulous rest of the weekend, while I, and everyone else in New Zealand begin Monday.

Another Massive Thank You!

Well Zumba almost killed me. I set it to easy and beginner workout...I swear I almost died. Ok so it wasn't Zumba's fault. Apparently I wasn't well enough to exercise. I should have known that after I couldn't finish my Biggest Loser challenge on Thursday. Anyway I managed to black out, twice. Had a good half hour of wanting to vomit and not being able to stand. Then I had a shower and still couldn't stand and kind of blacked out again. Apparently I still look rather white. So I have a doctors appointment tomorrow.

Anyway enough moaning on to my massive Thank You. I need to send the biggest Thank You ever to Liz from Liquid Jelly.

Look at the awesome swap polishes she sent me! Droool!

Finger Paints Carnation Creation and Easel-y Entertained, Wet n Wild How I Met Your Magenta and Night Prowl.

Sephora by OPI Hell to the No and Who Let the Dorks Out and Nicole by OPI Make a Comet-ment.
Yes I squealed when I opened this parcel! I'm such a dork and watch way too many TV shows religiously. Glee is one of those shows...another is How I Met Your Mother. I mean come on I called my little pet mouse Ted just so I could say "Have you met Ted?". No points for guessing where my other mouse Barnabas got his name...

Do you see all the gorgeous sparkles she sent me! And such pretty colours. And they bounce! No seriously, as i was showing off the awesomeness of these polishes to my mum, I dropped not one...not two...but three bottles onto the kitchen floor from the bench. I cringed expecting a broken mess...but no! They bounced. No breaks here! I breathed a very heavy sigh of relief!

Pink Wednesday Spam

I almost forgot Pink Wednesday!
I'm cheating this week....this is not my current mani. you can tell because I don't have a stubby nail!
I was actually wearing Zoya Dove with China glaze Cracked Concrete today...and then when I changed my nails this evening I applied BB Couture Nike...nothing pink about my choices...

But these nails are pink, so enjoy some pink polishes for pink Wednesday.

Yes they were just all the pics of pink polish I had on the desktop computer! I normally have my pics on my HP Mini, seeing as that's what I use to blog. But the mini was too far away to get...
I've posted some of these before, but Too Pink To Hold Em, Space case and Ultra-Astral have never been seen. I really should post the pics of my OPI Texas polishes and my Color Club Starry Temptress ones...
I've had both for awhile now.

Better late...

Well yesterday was Anzac Day and I did special Anzac Day nails and everything...

I just forgot to post them!

Thanks So Muchness with Black Shatter (Flash)

Thanks So Muchness with Black Shatter  (Natural cloudy light)
Anzac Day commemorates the day that the Anzac Soldiers landed in Gallipoli in 1915. It's the day we remember the soldiers of WW1 and WW2. I'm part of the generation whose grandparents were in the war. My mum's dad, Toppy, was Artillery and and a Dessert Rat. My dads father, Granddad, forged his age and joined the Navy, ending up in Japan. I believe that Anzac Day is an important day of remembrance, but I'm concerned that the next generation after me will have no comprehension of why the shops are closed and why we have a day off. Unfortunately when Anzac falls in the holidays I can't teach my class at school about it either. We'll have a chat when we get back, but it's too far out of their minds to spend too much time on. They are only 6!

On Anzac Day we wear red poppies in remembrance. They're a symbol of our return servicemen. At my Granddads funeral we placed poppies on the casket. I choose to wear a gorgeous red Thanks So Muchness to represent the red poppy and because I am thankful to the men and women of WW1 and WW2. I could come up with a symbolic reason of why I decided to Shatter my red nails. I could say it was to represent the way that war shatters life...but I just did it because I really wanted to see what it looked like! and I'm not really into red nails...I think they look really good. It's a shame about my stubby nail!

In awesome news, there will be post today! w00t! Due to Easter we haven't had any mail since Thursday. I'm hoping my China Glaze Island Escapes polishes will arrive today. That would be awesome.

In other awesome news, my mum rang me on Sunday night. She was very excited because she had just used Black Shatter on her Turquoise nails. Haha. Yay Mum! It was her first time stepping away from the reds and neutrals to wear Nicole Jade in the Shade (which I gave her the other week) and she crackled it!

Jade in the Shade, The colour my mum is currently rocking with black shatter!

A Very Special Birthday!

Last weekend we attended a very special birthday party.

Our highly awesome nephew and godson turned 5!

Cat and the Hat theme cake. Mummy did an amazing job of his cake!
Just before the tears that the sparkler candles wouldn't blow out!
It was a very awesome birthday party for a soon to be 5 year old. His mum did an amazing job, to throw the party together at such short notice so that his great grandparents could participate. Bradley now has to wait 2 weeks through the holidays, before he starts school next term! I can't wait to see him in his little uniform.

My Life Saver with a dose of Happy Birthday
These are my special birthday party nails. A bit of Bieber and a massive Happy Birthday!

On a side note...I will not be wearing My Life Saver on my fingers again. Even with a base coat I have crazy staining.  Green tinges are not sexy!

Rainbow Nicoles

A little while ago I received some gorgeous Nicole by OPI polishes. Ok so I bought them...but received sounds less like I have an online shopping problem! Plus I did receive them...in the mail!

The Right Thing, Yellow it's Me, Make Mine Lime and Wild Blue Yonder.
All lined up they looked very rainbow-tastic. I love rainbows and I need some nice bright cheerful colours today.

The Right Thing
The Right Thing is a gorgeous shimmery coral. It's so bright an cheerful. I've been wearing The Right Thing on my toes for the last week. It's such a happy colour.

Yellow it's Me
Yellow it's me is one of those yellows that is just so darn pretty. Yes it's kind of sheer, but come on...I can forgive it. Just look at that delicious warm shimmer.

Make Mine Lime
Make Mine Lime is not one of the colours I would normally pick out. It's lime and shimmery...both awesome things, but it just doesn't scream me? There's nothing wrong with it...it's kind of an awesome colour really. but even on my toes I didn't feel like I could pull it off.
Wild blue Yonder
Wild blue Yonder is awesome. Shimmery almost electric blue. Yup it's awesome alright. I keep looking at this picture going "why didn't I wear this one today?"

Next step will be to do a rainbow mani with these!

Rocking Pink For Wednesday

I'm rocking a conservative, very pretty pale pink today.
As I'm currently sitting at parent teacher interviews, waiting for my next parent to come in 15min, I thought I'd go with a subtle polish.

Luckily for me the OPI Femme de Cirque collection arrived for me on Friday last week. W00t, I had 4 gorgeous subtle shades to choose from.

I settled on Step Right Up! with two coats of I Juggle...Men.

Step Right Up! with two coats of I Juggle...Men
Step Right Up! is an awesome pale pink, with a lot of whiteness to it. I have crazy white nail tips...and this was five coats . You can still see some line...but I was happy with it. Lucky I liked the colour so much...otherwise I'm not sure I would have had the patience to do five!

I Juggle...Men is a very delicate subtle polish with a clear base and tiny flakes that seem to flash blue, pink and purple tones. It's incredibly subtle, but is stunning when you catch a glimpse of the flakes.

Bottle Spam

Over the last two weeks I've been very lucky. I've managed to find polishes at the top of my wishlist, for reasonable-ish prices. Ok, so I totally more than I should have more a couple...but they were still cheaper than what I would have had to pay in New Zealand at retail price. Talking about price of polish in NZ, I noticed yesterday that OPI was over $26. That's crazy.

These are the beauties that have arrived for me to play with over the last two weeks.

You Got Soul-ar, I Always Get My Man-darin, Get Your Lem-on and The :Lime Starts Here.
These were the last few polishes, I didn't originally order from the Wicked Sweet and the Starry Temptress, Color Club collections. To be honest I can see why I didn't order them to start with, but Get You Lem-on and Always Get My Man-darin have some gorgeous shimmer in them. Unfortunately I think they smell like cleaning products. Blah citrus scents.

3D Fantasy, Hyper Haute, Gamer Glam and High Def
Tronicas! I was so excited when these arrived yesterday. I wanted Gamer Glam for Nick, not for him to wear...but so I could dork out and wear it to game with him. lol...yeah. The Tronicas may not be crazy linear holographics but they are pretty and definitely have a 3D effect happening.

Kaleidscope Him Out, He's Going in Circles and Rated Holographic.
I managed to get my hands on six of the China Glaze Holographics before Christmas, Nick gave them to me for Christmas. I've been searching for more ever since. I managed to find 5 more on ebay. Octa-Gone Wild and How About a Tumble are making their way to me from Europe, but these three arrived yesterday! If only I could find Visit Me in Prism...then I'd have the whole set!

DS Sapphire, DS Signature, DS Original, DS Passion and DS Diamond.
These are my first DS polishes. These retail for close to $40 in New Zealand...So I haven't felt the need to purchase the DS polishes before. That is until I googled OPI DS...then I needed them. Original is my most expensive polish to date. It cost me more than my Lippmanns...just...but at $18 it was still cheaper than NZ prices, even if that was US$.

I Juggle...Men, So Many Clowns, So Little Time, Step Right Up and In the Spot-light Pink.
I'm still on the hunt for the perfect wedding polish.I hoped my perfect polish might be in the Femme de Cirque collection from OPI. Gorgeous light shades and a pretty tiny flaked top coat...I just might find the polish I'm looking for! It would help if I had any idea of what I wanted...

Love Your Life, Lets Get Star-ted and Gone Wishin'
Respect the World, It's Possible, Enchantress and Jade in the Shade
I managed to get these Nicole's on ebay in a set, for a reasonable price. I really wanted some more of the novelty glitters and had a serious lemming for Respect the World. As far as I can tell Jade in the Shade is more frosty while Respect the World is sheerer and has more shimmer. I'm looking forward to comparing them in the sun. If we get some sun today!

Through the Looking Glass, Alice's Adventures and Down the Rabbit Hole.
Ocean Breeze, Candy Kisses and Peppermint.
I love that these BYS polishes look more like frankens than something normally produced by polish companies. The first three are special Alice in Wonderland themed polishes and the bottom three are Diamond Shimmers. They're all crazy glittery. Down the Rabbit Hole is my favourite. Awesome black jelly with holo glitter. BYS are very easy to get a hold off in NZ and compared to other polishes, very cheap. The Diamond Shimmers were $5.90 and the Alice in Wonderlands $8.90.

Happy Birthday and Ruby Red Slippers.
Lippmans...drool. Although to be honest I'm not feeling Ruby Red Slippers or Across the Universe. Well not as polishes by themselves. They get too clumpy with all that glitter. They look so much better layered, but that's just my opinion. Happy Birthday is awesome. I needed it even though I have the pink glitter Milani Gems. Happy Birthday is so celebratory.

Tink Pink and Sea of Cortez.
These are the other two polishes I ordered from BB Couture with the four from the Touch of Greece Collection. Tink Pink is supposed to be another option for a wedding polish and I just really wanted Sea of Cortez.

Wow, that is a lot of polish. Luckily I don't have much on order at the moment. I really should do a no buy...but I doubt I'd cope!

I other exciting news I joined the On Wednesdays We Wear Pink club, so on Wednesday I'll be rocking Pink. Love Mean Girls!
