Quick Pink Wednesday

I had plans to wear Cult Nails Devious Nature today...

But that didn't work out for me. So I'm still rocking China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifier, trying to get my nails looking tip top for my wedding in 3 and a half weeks.

But I couldn't go with out showing a pink mani!

Here's one from the archives...the unseen archives.

China Glaze How About a Tumble
Yes, I have pictures of my Kaleidoscopes I still haven't got around to posting. Shame on me! They're such beautiful polishes. I was lucky enough to score How About a Tumble on ebay, for not such a hefty price.
How About a Tumble is stunning. I was worried the pink would be too pale and cool for me...it does have a smidge of purple tone to it. It is stunning though, so pretty and girly...these pictures are making me want to wear it now! But I don't have time to apply polish this morning.
I'm on crossing duty so have to leave for school earlier.

OPI Blue Shatter

Well yesterday we had sunshine! I wanted a sunshining mani to match the rare glimpse of sunshine we had.
I fished out 108 degrees and layered it with OPI blue Shatter to create this rather bright and 80's coloured mani!

OPI Blue Shatter over China Glaze 108 Degrees
We had an awesome day pretending it was summer again, despite the freezing wind. We visited both nephews. We even took Bradley (5) to visit baby Max. Max is starting to chatter, gurgle and talk back when you talk to him. Bradley sat down to have a conversation with him and was rather disappointed when Max just made baby noises back!

Awwww little baby hand.

An Orange Crackled Pineapple

I had plans to post this on Thursday...then on Friday...and now it's 2:30am on Saturday morning and I'm finally posting!

I wanted to show everyone another of the Mia Secret Crackles I purchased on ebay. There was a wide range of colours available and at only $2 a bottle I was prepared if they didn't live up to my expectations. Luckily the three bottle I bought, gold, orange and rose, seem to crackle just as well as other crackles I've used. The formulae does smell stronger, but if you can look past that, they're fun to play with and come in a lot of colours.

Mia Secret Crackle in Orange over China Glaze Electric Pineapple
I'm still coming to turns with my break, but I wanted to apply some polish. I decided on Electric Pineapple, but then it was too bright for what I'd wanted. So I made it even brighter with some orange crackle. I actually really like this combination. I love orange polish, so I love the twist of wearing an orange crackle. It's so bright and summery...if only we weren't going into winter!

I still have the gold crackle to test out, hopefully I can do that today. The colour doesn't seem to be as nice as the orange or rose. If I have time I'll test them all over a few different colour polishes. I want to see if they can handle a darker base.

My Last Tronicas and Why the Wii is My Friend

I've posted all but two of my Tronica polishes. By all, I only have 5! So I've posted the majority but not these two. So here's Gamer Glam and Techno Teal.

Techno Teal
I wanted Techno Teal since I saw pictures comparing it to DV8, a polish I haven't been able to get my hands on. I love teals and turquoises. Anything with a blue/green or green/blue is right up my alley. I love Techno Teal, it has the same pretty holo sprinkling that the Tronicas seem to have, and the colour is just so darn pretty. Techno Teal was the last Tronica that I acquired and it's filled my leeming for Tronicas. I haven't been searching for them since!

Gamer Glam
Gamer Glam was the reason I needed polishes from this collection in the first place. I just wanted to be able to paint my nails and sit down next to Nick while he was playing his xbox or ps3 and say 'hey darling, my nails are Gamer Glam'. When I told him the name of the polish he was actually interested...he was on a bit of a Tron kick though. Anyway I love Gamer Glam, it's pretty and purple and has an awesome name that related to my life outside of nail polish.

In other news the Wii Fit and I are still friends. Since my passing out episode on Tuesday I haven't exercised and was kind of dreading the idea of weighing myself...but it told me I'd lost weight still. So far I've lost 4kg now.

I started at 71kg (156 pounds) and that was the heaviest I have ever been, emotional eating does that to you...mmmm hells pizza. Anyway after 3 weeks I'm now at 67kg ( 148 pounds). 67kg is my normal weight so my dress should fit me again when I have my dress fitting on Wednesday night. For the wedding I'd like to lose a little more though, just so I can look back at the pictures of  me in a bikini and say 'yeah I actually looked alright'. I figured I'll be wearing a bikini a lot seeing as the wedding's in RAROTONGA!!!!! yeah!!! Can you tell I'm getting excited! Only 8 more weeks to go!

The awesome thing about my diet and exercise routine (when I have the energy to start exercising again, yay iron pills) is I love eating salad and homemade chicken soup. I also love doing exercise at home...where other people can't see how un co-ordinated I am! I can't wait to start Zumba and Biggest Loser up again on alternative days. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow when Nick's home....just in case I have issues with blacking out again!

China Glaze Island Escape

Originally I only ordered three polishes from the Island Escape collection. 108 Degrees, Blue Iguana and Senorita Bonita.  But after seeing swatches I had to have the lot. I'm glad I decided to order them all, because I really like the Island Escape collection.

China Glaze Blue Iguana
For some odd reason I'm feeling rather down this morning. Lucky China Glaze Blue Iguana is the perfect cheer me up shade of blue. Look at the delicious shiny sparkle!

No You Can't Come In!

Thursday, and I'm finally going back into school to sort my class out for Monday next week when the kids come back. I actually hate being in school at the holidays. It's creepy with no kids!

It's another glum day, not raining, but still cloudy and cold. I wish I could stay in my toasty lounge with a blanket today. Since it's such a cloudy blah day, here's some pics of a gorgeous polish in sunshine! Another Tronica polish I managed to find on ebay.

3D Fantasy is a gorgeous coral shade. I'm really into coral at the moment. anyway here's pictures.

3D Fantasy
There's a very cute kitten outside my door meowing at me as though I'm a bad person. The trouble is I don't have a kitten and as much as I'd love to let it in...I can't. So no kitty you can't come in! It has a collar and looks well loved, there's been no missing cat notices in the letterbox. I think it just wants attention while it's owners are out. It's not the first time...it actually got into the house the other day. That was a mission getting it out. I can't leave the door open now!

In other cute pictures check out Clio and Jaz's idea of a great place to sleep...

In the egg carton I gave them to play with...crazy girls!

And this is the new exercise regime Nick has put Barnabas on.

Nick thought Barnabas was getting too fat and wasn't using the wheel in his cage. It's hilarious watching this little green bubble roll around the floor though.

Happy Easter!

Generally I love publish Holidays. I love Easter and the time you get to spend with family. I love Christmas, it's my favourite time of year. This year Easter just seems like a massive let down though.

The last 3 years Easter has fallen (a.k.a the ministry of education planned for it) in the school holidays. When Easter is in term time it's awesome. We get Good Friday off and then don't go back till Wednesday. In 2008 it was awesome I was doing my first teaching experience and Easter was right in the middle of it. I got 5 days off! and we went up to Ohakune to visit my brother who was doing his Army Training. He's a medic in the army. We had an amazing few days.

This year Easter is smack bang in the middle of the holidays. Shops are closed on Friday and on Sunday and it's a public holiday on Monday. Which is generally awesome. But Anzac day and Easter Monday are on the same day this year. So we loose out on a public holiday! They don't carry one over. How lame is that?

They can give us an extra day off school if Easter is in term time but they can't carry a public holiday over...lame. Although I'll post about Anzac day tomorrow and how it's slightly cool that Anzac Day is over Easter...but only slightly!

Moan over...here's my Easter nails. Stubby break and all :(

Nyx Sunday Afternoon with China Glaze Broken Hearted
I started off with 2 coats of OPI Barefoot in Barcelona that I bored off mum. I thought a nice neutral will draw attention away from my stubby middle finger....but I needed glitz! And hey, Sunday Afternoon is very appropriately named for Easter Sunday! I was going to use Crushed Candy but then remember I still hadn't used Broken Hearted on myself...so here we are! My bright pink crackle and sparkly nails.

And here's a couple of pics of Easter at my house...

Yum yum, Easter Eggs at home. See the mini Creme Eggs!

Lindt Bunnies for my family and Nick if he's lucky and stops complaining that I didn't buy him an Easter egg!

Romantiques

The Romantique collection was released that Spring that China Glaze was all over chromes. I was intrigued to give them a whirl, especially with their reputation for stamping... but I can't say I'm a fan of the Romantiques. It's just the finish...I love most the colours. But I can't get past the chromey, strokey finish. That being said, there's a lot of applicator error here!

These are all old pics, I just haven't been motivated to show them before. I really should get round to swatching all my new polishes! And finish off those Nail Prisms.

Adore
The only one I love. That probably has something to do with my unconditional love for all things teal, turquoise, aqua, blue/green or green/blue.

Admire
Omg is this the worst colour in the world on me or what! Silvered pink...not me at all.

Emotion
Emotion is quite nice actually. A brighter warmer pink than Admire...but I still can't love it.

Passion
Yeah...Gold...ummm I don't think I'm a gold nails kind of person!

Cherish
Cherish is another I think is very pretty. A Spring green, but again I just don't love it!

Harmony

Well Harmony is just not me either to be honest. I just look at it and think blah.

Pink Wednesday!

It's Wens'day, Wens'day...gotta wear pink on Wens'day....

I'm rocking my 2nd China Glaze Tronica polish....Hyper Haute.
And let me tell you, this is one hot polish alright!

Hyper Haute
This was two coats of Hyper Haute. It's a really nice bright dark pink. Again it's not a linear holo, it's not even a real crazy scattered holo. I've dubbed these impressionist holo's. Tiny dots of holo awesomeness that play with the light. I swear at times these polishes appear to have a shimmery dotted rainbow floating over the colour. argh! I can't explain the awesomeness.

Now I'm off to pick up my gorgeous nephew and we're going on an adventure. A 45min drive over a hill to pick up two cute little baby girl mice. He's been looking forward to our drive since his birthday on Wednesday, a week ago!
