My Last Tronicas and Why the Wii is My Friend

I've posted all but two of my Tronica polishes. By all, I only have 5! So I've posted the majority but not these two. So here's Gamer Glam and Techno Teal.

Techno Teal
I wanted Techno Teal since I saw pictures comparing it to DV8, a polish I haven't been able to get my hands on. I love teals and turquoises. Anything with a blue/green or green/blue is right up my alley. I love Techno Teal, it has the same pretty holo sprinkling that the Tronicas seem to have, and the colour is just so darn pretty. Techno Teal was the last Tronica that I acquired and it's filled my leeming for Tronicas. I haven't been searching for them since!

Gamer Glam
Gamer Glam was the reason I needed polishes from this collection in the first place. I just wanted to be able to paint my nails and sit down next to Nick while he was playing his xbox or ps3 and say 'hey darling, my nails are Gamer Glam'. When I told him the name of the polish he was actually interested...he was on a bit of a Tron kick though. Anyway I love Gamer Glam, it's pretty and purple and has an awesome name that related to my life outside of nail polish.

In other news the Wii Fit and I are still friends. Since my passing out episode on Tuesday I haven't exercised and was kind of dreading the idea of weighing myself...but it told me I'd lost weight still. So far I've lost 4kg now.

I started at 71kg (156 pounds) and that was the heaviest I have ever been, emotional eating does that to you...mmmm hells pizza. Anyway after 3 weeks I'm now at 67kg ( 148 pounds). 67kg is my normal weight so my dress should fit me again when I have my dress fitting on Wednesday night. For the wedding I'd like to lose a little more though, just so I can look back at the pictures of  me in a bikini and say 'yeah I actually looked alright'. I figured I'll be wearing a bikini a lot seeing as the wedding's in RAROTONGA!!!!! yeah!!! Can you tell I'm getting excited! Only 8 more weeks to go!

The awesome thing about my diet and exercise routine (when I have the energy to start exercising again, yay iron pills) is I love eating salad and homemade chicken soup. I also love doing exercise at home...where other people can't see how un co-ordinated I am! I can't wait to start Zumba and Biggest Loser up again on alternative days. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow when Nick's home....just in case I have issues with blacking out again!

Pink Wednesday!

It's Wens'day, Wens'day...gotta wear pink on Wens'day....

I'm rocking my 2nd China Glaze Tronica polish....Hyper Haute.
And let me tell you, this is one hot polish alright!

Hyper Haute
This was two coats of Hyper Haute. It's a really nice bright dark pink. Again it's not a linear holo, it's not even a real crazy scattered holo. I've dubbed these impressionist holo's. Tiny dots of holo awesomeness that play with the light. I swear at times these polishes appear to have a shimmery dotted rainbow floating over the colour. argh! I can't explain the awesomeness.

Now I'm off to pick up my gorgeous nephew and we're going on an adventure. A 45min drive over a hill to pick up two cute little baby girl mice. He's been looking forward to our drive since his birthday on Wednesday, a week ago!

Autism Awareness

Yesterday was Autism Awareness Day.

As a primary school teacher I come in contact with children who are on the spectrum every day.

Autism is more common than we realise and many people don't realise that Autism is a spectrum. I liked what was said at one course I attended on Autism. "Everyone has a piece to the puzzle, some have more pieces than others".

Anyway on to my blue...

China Glaze High Def.

High Def in sunshine
I was prepared to be disappointed by the Tronica Holos, but I wasn't. They're different yes, but still amazing. I actually really like the holo effect in the Tronicas. Rather than a linear or a crazy scattered holo, the Tronicas have a very fine holographic effect. At some points it was like I was looking at a rainbow gradient that covered my whole nail, not just a thin band of rainbow. It's an impressionistic holographic effect.

But then I went and ruined it. I was waiting around while Nick was shooting at his work mates at paintball...so I crackled it. White wasn't a good choice. Then just for good measure, to make it truly heinous, I added OPI Last Friday Night. The pictures don't look so bad...but trust me it wasn't a good look!

High Def topped with Lightning Bolt and Last Friday Night...

Magical Sally Hansens

Omg. These are amazingly Magical.

Cooper Cauldron and Mystical Mandarin
Neither polish lives up to it's name. I'm not really a cooper person...although a nice holo mandarin would have been awesome. One was too thick, one was too thin. One was a one coater, the other was two coats. I can't remember which was which!

Cooper Cauldron

Mystical Mandarin
Mystical Mandarin was too thick and was the one coater. Cooper Cauldron was too thin and the two coater. Though can I really say it was too thin when it looked so awesome after two coats? Both had no base coat and no top coat. I had no issues with not using a base coat. They were just plain awesome. Wish I could get my hands on more Magicals!

Nubar Holo's Again

While the first part of the Nubar Prisms collection are smooth, yet not true linear holos, the second part of the collection are gritty scattered holos. A couple of the polishes have duo-chrome tendencies and one is rather frosty. It's something different though.

Prize is a red toned pink, or a pinkish red with a lot of holo glitter thrown into it. Prize works well and I quite like the effect.
Jewel is, I think, my favourite of the collection. Rich brown, with goldy shimmer and holo scatter.
Gem is an amazing colour. Mushroomy grey pink, and scattered holo.
Essence is a tad frosty and some of the holo gets lost. It's still a very pretty warm peach pink.
And just for good measure....Reclaim, a very pretty linear holo green from the Going Green Collection. Well...it shows Nubar knows how to make gorgeous linear holo's...they just decided not to?

Milani Take 2...

I just realised I never got around to adding the pics of the rest of the Milani 3D collection.

I'm lying in bed with my HP mini, suffering a head cold, or what feels like a head cold. We've only been back at school 3 weeks and I'm already coming down with the kids germs!

HD: silver scattered holo...I've come to the conclusion that I'm not actually into silvers. Sure they're pretty...but not as flattering as a nice grey. Silver's just not really me.

3D: Gold. Very yellow gold. Definitely 24k. Look how yellow that gold is. Yeah...not really me. Golds are more me than silvers, but still not really my thing. Well a nice neutral gold is awesome, but yellow yellow gold...I have a white gold engagement ring for a reason!

Hi Tech: luckily Hi Tech is in this set of pics. Hi Tech is the best green holo I own. So pretty and vibrant and a definite spring green. It looks more yellow in my pics, but it is very green!

OMG...as in OMG holographics

Over the last few months since my nail polish obsession started...when I realised that I actually I had nails...I have collected six of the 12 stunning China Glaze Holographics known as the OMG Collection.

OMG is right. These Holo's are amazing. Really nice to apply, they're pigmented, smooth and have amazing holo qualities. They make rainbows.

TTYL
TTYL is a very pretty subtle warm pink with POW. Soon as you get it in the sunlight you see that holo, actually soon as you get it under any light you see the holo.

GR8
Well in all honesty I can't say I'm a fan of great...it's just not a very flattering colour! I'm thinking it'll be good for stamping...but I doubt I'll be wearing it alone.

IDK
IDK is such a pretty colour for spring...Spring just makes me think of light purples and greens. IDK is amazing...easy as that!

LOL
LOL is a very sexy purple holo. It's dark enough, it's holo enough...it's the perfect purple holo. Although in my opinion the light colours holo's are more prominent.

2NITE
I would be bold enough to say that 2NITE is my favourite from the collection, that I have. It's gorgeous...the perfect shade of light blue. I wore this to school and even the boys loved it and exclaimed I had rainbows on my nails.

L8R G8R
L8R G8R is my latest edition to my collection, I saw some one selling it online and jumped on it. The same person is now selling FYI, but I'm not sure I need it...Anyway L8R G8R perfect spring green. Very stunning holo effect.
