Prisms

For the last few months I've been on a crazy collecting spree.

I've been collecting Sally Hansen Nail Prisms.
I haven't been able to purchase any of the omg coveted polishes like Garnet Lapis or Turquoise Opal. Unfortunately I don't want to spend $24.99 (US dollars) on a polish. I'm tempted...but know that, that is a little too much for me, for one polish.

One of the interesting things about the Nail Prisms is the variations you can find. I have two Ruby Diamonds that are different colours and one is more holo, two blush diamonds where one is a blush and one is a pink and my purple diamond sucks compared to pictures I've seen.

1. Diamond LE, 2. Pink Rose Diamond, 3. Purple Diamond, 4. South Sea Pearl and 7. Amber Ruby.
9. Blush Diamond, 9.Blush Diamond, 12. Coral Amber, 11. Fire Opal and 10. Golden Cinnabar.
13. Ruby Diamond, 13. Ruby Diamond, 14. Lapis Amethyst, 15. Lavender Pearl and 17. Pink Pearl.
18. Star Opal, 19. Lavender Sky, 21. Scarlet Ruby, 22. Bronze Coral and 23. Burgundy Orchid.
25. White Diamond, 26. Cinnabar Opal, 27. Bronze Ruby, 28. Mandarin Garnet and 29. Golden Tourmaline.
35. White Turquoise, 36. Lavender Sapphire and 37. Ruby Topaz.
Hopefully in the near future I'll get around to swatching them all. most seem to be thin, take a bajillion coats to cover my white, white nail tips and take forever to dry. But omg! drool! look at them altogether. Such a pretty collection. I'll keep scouring the internet for the ones I'm missing.

If I can get a good picture I'll post my nail wheels later today :)
They've been sitting in my lounge a week and a bit now. I keep moving their location to see the array of colours each polish contains.

Magical Sally Hansens

Omg. These are amazingly Magical.

Cooper Cauldron and Mystical Mandarin
Neither polish lives up to it's name. I'm not really a cooper person...although a nice holo mandarin would have been awesome. One was too thick, one was too thin. One was a one coater, the other was two coats. I can't remember which was which!

Cooper Cauldron

Mystical Mandarin
Mystical Mandarin was too thick and was the one coater. Cooper Cauldron was too thin and the two coater. Though can I really say it was too thin when it looked so awesome after two coats? Both had no base coat and no top coat. I had no issues with not using a base coat. They were just plain awesome. Wish I could get my hands on more Magicals!

Super Moon Day

It's a beautiful sunshiney day!

I plan on spending my day swatching and cleaning the house. Although I need to pick up more cotton swabs and polish remover first! Maybe I can find some delicious bacon and hashbrowns on special for breakfast.

Happy Super Moon Day...I hope no one is freaking about natural disasters. We'll be having drinks in Wellington tonight...right on one of the major fault lines in New Zealand.

Some of the beauties I plan to swatch today are...

Zoya Mattes
Zoya Reverie Collection
Lippmanns!!!
Wicked Sweet...yum!
Starry Temptress...tempting!
Older Sally Hansens I picked up cheaply.
Borghese nudes...options for wedding?
More Borghese I picked up cheaply.
Nicoles...ohhhh...the colours! Rainbow...

Nail Prisms Find

Surfing the internets and various sale sites before Christmas, like early December, I found some Sally Hansen Nail Prisms for $1.95 each. Needless to say I bought the 5 that were available.

On Saturday morning the finally arrived. In all honesty the only one I love is Blush Diamond. It's a stunning the holo. The rest...well they're kinda meh. I'll have to try layering them to see if my feelings change.

White Diamond, Cinnibar Opal, Lavender, Diamond and Blush Diamond.
Blush Diamond. Awesome sparkling Holo.

Diamond. Dull, supposed to be holo, meh.

Lavender. White pearl, blah.

Cinnibar Opal. Orangey mess.

White Diamond. Pearly white tinged with yellow? blah.

Greymouth Haul

While down in Greymouth I ventured into a Postie Plus store and found some awesome nail polishes.

I bought 7 polishes for $26. A Sally Hansen Fire Opal, 4 Klean Color polishes and 2 No.7 boots polishes. I was suprised at the goodies I found and since I've been back home I've been popping into the local Postie Plus stores looking for more awesome polishes, but so far I've only found 4 more Klean Colors I like.

Sally Hansen Fire Opal Goldspun Opal

No.7 in Taffeta.

No.7 in Sorbet.
The No.7 polishes I picked up are both very duo-chromey. Sorbet flashes green and gold with the peach. Taffeta switches between gold/amber/pink. Both polishes are very soft when dry and need a top coat.

Kleancolor Fuschia Pearl

Kleancolor Sheer Lilac

Kleancolor Silver Star
I also purchased Kleancolor Twinkly Love. Blue, silver and pink hearts in a clear polish, but for some reason didn't take a picture of it.
