My weekend keeps getting better...I have the nail polish I have been most excited about all month, but I can't swatch them because of my broken nail! And I've been rather ill. I cooked chicken on our new grill last night...I'm not sure I cooked it right through properly... opps...
Anyway here's the awesome polishes that I won't be swatching for awhile! But look upon their awesomeness!

Oh the Horror.
I received the most beautiful, biggest leemed, nail polish ever...
and I have completely brutalised my nails through trimming them to put contacts in and the nastiest break in the history of nails...or at least my nails.
I also managed to apply this polish with my eyes closed obviously...look at that shocking application!
Sigh it'll be at least 4 weeks before that ring finger grows out to an acceptable length. As long as its grown out before the wedding... 6 weeks to go...

Another Pink Wednesday
I'm feeling rather tired and ratty tonight.
I took pictures of my pink Wednesday nails when I painted them last night and meant to post them this morning. I had issues with getting out of bed though...
Today I decided on OPI DS Passion. Passion is such a pretty pink with scattered holo. A darkened pink version of Diamond...or at least that's what I was thinking when I reached for it to wear. I have posted Passion before, but sometimes a polish is just so pretty it needs to be seen again.
And now for why I'm feeling tired and ratty. I had an optometrist appointment today. I wanted to get contacts for our wedding coming up n July. I wanted to see, but there was no way I was wearing glasses! I have only worn glasses for four years and I always take them off for important events...like Christmas or birthdays or going out...or any good reason really.
Anyway, I've discovered I'm pro at putting contacts in...but really really, super bad at taking them out. So my eyes are red and irritated from me prodding and poking them whilst trying to get the damn things out.
Unfortunately at the optometrists I also ended up having to trim my nails. It was rather weird sitting their trimming my nails so I could get the contacts in with out scratching my eyes... I tried to avoid cutting my nails...but I poked myself with my nail a few times and boy did it hurt. At least the lady who was helping me put the contacts in and take them out felt sorry for me and commented on how nice my nails were and that the polish (Passion) was so pretty... That made me feel a little better.
So this is what my nails look like now...

I have no idea why that's rotated funny...but look at my little stubby index...I'll trim my ring and pinky later. I guess I need to anyway. At least Passion hides my break pretty well!

Two Purple DS
Well yesterday I was in the throes of nail depression. I broke my ring finger nail, on my left hand. I broke it so far down I was beginning to get worried it wouldn't be long enough in time for the wedding in July...
The breaks actually on my nail bed. So as you can imagine could be rather sore.
I trimmed my nails to prevent snagging and more tearing happening. Then I went on an expedition to find a repair kit. Google had told me what to look for...but I've come to the conclusion that New Zealand doesn't care about my broken nails. I ended up buying some thin medical tape stuff. You know that kind of stuff they use to tape the cotton ball to your arm after a blood test...but thinner. So I've applied that to my finger, then coated it in 2 coats of base coat, 4 of nail polish (I was stupid enough to use a thinner polish lol) and 2 top coats...(yup I used a polish with glitter).
So far it's holding up. I haven't done anymore damage and you can't tell I've done a make shift repair/preventing more damage, job on it. It managed to survive showering and washing my hair, so fingers crossed. Lets hope it grows out quickly. I may have to invest in some fast grow stuff. If I can catch the sun today I'll get a picture of my patched up nail, see if you can tell!
Anyway some old pics but good ones. I have 5 OPI DS polishes...and one on the way to me.
I've already posted my two pinks, Passion an Signature. Today I thought I'd post the two purples I own, Diamond and Original. That'll leave a post of my two blues Sapphire and the one on the way.
Diamond is such a pretty silvered purple. It has a scattered holo effect, in my opinion much like the China Glaze Tronicas...but better. I love this colour. It's pretty and stands out, but it's not too in your face. I think it looks amazing under black shatter. Diamond was a two coater for me.
And now an amazing stunning gorgeous purple..
Original is a stunning purple holo. Much more linear, it creates rainbows! Of course with this one the linear holo comes at a price, it's rather sheer. But as you can see four coats worked out fine on me! I don't think there's much else to say....just look at the awesomeness of the polish in the pics!

Pride Cometh Before the...Break?
I had one of those days yesterday that was mixed with so much good and bad.
My best friend, and bridesmaid, was up from Christchurch for the holidays and to escape the quakes. She wasn't keen on being home alone with so many after shocks happening. So we hung out with my mum and went to pay off the rest of my wedding dress and choose a veil.
In January my dress fit perfectly. Very snug...but it did up! Unfortunately comfort eating didn't help my waist and it now refuses to zip! so I guess that's bad number one! Although I did know I had to get back to eating healthy and exercising more lol. I don't need to loose much, so it's highly doable before the dress fittings in June. See plenty of time!
But I did get an awesome very cute veil. Though...$92 for a piece of material that clips into my hair? Still it was cheaper than I expected!
And my nails were looking amazing...I was very vain about my nails today. Yes they're stained....damn you Justin Beiber My Life Saver...but the shape and length was perfect for me!
But as we all know pride cometh before the fall...and I was drying dishes when I hit my hand into the cupboard (excellent hand eye co-ordination...). My middle finger nail went snap! There was no repair, it was a clean break.
Now I have this tiny half nail looking thing. I've cut all my nails down so it doesn't look so odd...but ahhh! It looks odd. And to make matters worse it's my swatch hand! I had so many good plans to swatch my untrieds this school holidays. At least I have a stash of pics on my computer to post.
Moral of the story...don't eat too much Hells Pizza no matter how delicious their Pandemonium (Chicken, crandberry and brie) Pizza is and don't be too vain about your nails...they can break :(

Pink Wednesday
Ok...I'm kinda cheating today. I'm actually wearing I Vant To Be A-Lone Star topped off with Today Was a Fairytale... But I haven't taken a picture of it and therefor there is no evidence I was too lazy to take it off and apply pink!
Luckily I have two awesome pinks to show.
OPI DS Passion...
and OPI DS Signature...
So hopefully I can be forgiven!

Bottle Spam
Over the last two weeks I've been very lucky. I've managed to find polishes at the top of my wishlist, for reasonable-ish prices. Ok, so I totally more than I should have more a couple...but they were still cheaper than what I would have had to pay in New Zealand at retail price. Talking about price of polish in NZ, I noticed yesterday that OPI was over $26. That's crazy.
These are the beauties that have arrived for me to play with over the last two weeks.
These were the last few polishes, I didn't originally order from the Wicked Sweet and the Starry Temptress, Color Club collections. To be honest I can see why I didn't order them to start with, but Get You Lem-on and Always Get My Man-darin have some gorgeous shimmer in them. Unfortunately I think they smell like cleaning products. Blah citrus scents.
Tronicas! I was so excited when these arrived yesterday. I wanted Gamer Glam for Nick, not for him to wear...but so I could dork out and wear it to game with him. lol...yeah. The Tronicas may not be crazy linear holographics but they are pretty and definitely have a 3D effect happening.
I managed to get my hands on six of the China Glaze Holographics before Christmas, Nick gave them to me for Christmas. I've been searching for more ever since. I managed to find 5 more on ebay. Octa-Gone Wild and How About a Tumble are making their way to me from Europe, but these three arrived yesterday! If only I could find Visit Me in Prism...then I'd have the whole set!
These are my first DS polishes. These retail for close to $40 in New Zealand...So I haven't felt the need to purchase the DS polishes before. That is until I googled OPI DS...then I needed them. Original is my most expensive polish to date. It cost me more than my Lippmanns...just...but at $18 it was still cheaper than NZ prices, even if that was US$.
I'm still on the hunt for the perfect wedding polish.I hoped my perfect polish might be in the Femme de Cirque collection from OPI. Gorgeous light shades and a pretty tiny flaked top coat...I just might find the polish I'm looking for! It would help if I had any idea of what I wanted...
I managed to get these Nicole's on ebay in a set, for a reasonable price. I really wanted some more of the novelty glitters and had a serious lemming for Respect the World. As far as I can tell Jade in the Shade is more frosty while Respect the World is sheerer and has more shimmer. I'm looking forward to comparing them in the sun. If we get some sun today!
I love that these BYS polishes look more like frankens than something normally produced by polish companies. The first three are special Alice in Wonderland themed polishes and the bottom three are Diamond Shimmers. They're all crazy glittery. Down the Rabbit Hole is my favourite. Awesome black jelly with holo glitter. BYS are very easy to get a hold off in NZ and compared to other polishes, very cheap. The Diamond Shimmers were $5.90 and the Alice in Wonderlands $8.90.
Lippmans...drool. Although to be honest I'm not feeling Ruby Red Slippers or Across the Universe. Well not as polishes by themselves. They get too clumpy with all that glitter. They look so much better layered, but that's just my opinion. Happy Birthday is awesome. I needed it even though I have the pink glitter Milani Gems. Happy Birthday is so celebratory.
These are the other two polishes I ordered from BB Couture with the four from the Touch of Greece Collection. Tink Pink is supposed to be another option for a wedding polish and I just really wanted Sea of Cortez.
Wow, that is a lot of polish. Luckily I don't have much on order at the moment. I really should do a no buy...but I doubt I'd cope!
I other exciting news I joined the On Wednesdays We Wear Pink club, so on Wednesday I'll be rocking Pink. Love Mean Girls!
