Quick Haul-erific Post

I've still been struggling with this head cold and I have a meeting tonight at the bank. Which hopefully leads to me having money...so hopefully we get to go out for dinner!

I have an afternoon tea for my wedding this Saturday and then a few of the girls are spending the night in the city with ideas of seeing a movie, eating and maybe some drinking...
So I'm not sure I'll get anything posted this weekend!

Wednesday was a super awesome day for me. I came home to 3 parcels. One was a book, one was my beautfiul Lord of the Rings blurays...extended versions that are sold out everywhere. The last was my Beauty Joint order. OMG Beauty Joint I love you. My parcel came so fast and was so well packaged. Seriously less than a week to get to New Zealand.

Anyway on to pictures!

Mermaid Green, Pistachio, Lapis, Golden Lavender, Paradise Nude and Dorothy

Chunky Holo polishes: Bluebell, Teal, Purple, Fuchsia, Poppy and Black.

NYX I dream of St Thomas palette.

Look at that green shadow....it's amazing!

Round Lipticks: Iconic, Blush, Haute Couture, Shiva and Peach Bellini. NYX Plump it Up in Pamela

Drool!

My weekend keeps getting better...I have the nail polish I have been most excited about all month, but I can't swatch them because of my broken nail! And I've been rather ill. I cooked chicken on our new grill last night...I'm not sure I cooked it right through properly... opps...

Anyway here's the awesome polishes that I won't be swatching for awhile! But look upon their awesomeness!

Sick Day and Nyx Haulies Round 2

Somedays you just need to have a sick day. Yesterday I felt  rather awful. Nothing was actually wrong, but everything was! I mean I don't think I have a virus or anything interesting, I was just run down to the point that food was making me feel ill and my head just wouldn't stop throbbing.

So I decided to spend the day at home today. Unfortunately as a teacher I bought in to the idea that martyrdom is best. I hardly ever take a sick day. Last year I took 3 days off, because the doctor said I had no voice and therefor couldn't teach. I actually turned up at school and got sent home lol. But that's just silly. If you're sick, you're sick. My class don't want me all cranky and irritable just because I'm not feeling the greatest. As you can tell I feel the need to justify having a sick day to myself. Teachers are seriously martyrs.

I'm not as sick as I was yesterday, so I plan on doing somethings around the house and hopefully getting round to swatching some nail polish...and watching some Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant that I recorded. Is that bad or what! But omg I love the drama and am I only the person that watches these shows and wants babies... anyway that's my guilty secret of the day.

In more awesome non sick news my second Cherry Culture haul arrived yesterday and so did my Pirates of the Caribbean polishes. Seriously OPI if you're going to collaborate with Disney can you please do a princess collection....pretty pretty pretty please. I'd buy back ups for my backs ups if you did.

Anyway pics!

Haulies! New eyeshadow brushes, Black Label Lipsticks, Megashine Lip Gloss, Concealer Jar and Polish

Black Label Lipsticks in Nude, India and Natural

Black Label Lipsticks in Diva, Heather and Off the Beaten Path

Alps Bunny and Deep Space

Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Nude Peach and Pink Rose

Skull and Gloss Bones, Stranger Tides and Mermaids Tears

Steady as she Rose, Sparrow Me the Drama and Planks a Lot.
Nick bought me Zumba for the PS3 yesterday, so I plan on trying that out today as well. I have no rhythm and cannot dance...so it should be interesting! I just wanted a fun exercise game to play. Biggest Loser isn't fun...it just makes me do exercises. So on the days I'm not doing Biggest Loser I wanted a fun game to play.

According the Wii Fit, which I'm now only using to track my weight, I have now lost a total of 3kg. So only 4kg to go until I'm at my happy weight. 8kg to go if I really want to lose weight and look alright in my bikini.
10kg if I want to be back to my 17 year old self weight.

Nyx Haulies Number 1!

It's almost 10am on Sunday... and I'm still in bed. I had to get up at 6.30am to take Nick to the bus as per usual, but as soon as I got home I climbed straight back into bed. I don't plan on getting up either, unless there's a blanket and lots of cushions on the couch involved. It is absolutely pelting down outside. There's been thunder and lightning and the rain just hasn't let up. There's a lake surrounding my car, so there's no way I plan on going anywhere today. Ok maybe lake is an exaggeration, but I'd get my feet wet if I tried to get into my car.

Yesterday the first of my Nyx orders from Cherry Culture arrived. Exciting!

Sparkle, Bronze Goddess, Smoldering and Black
Hot Blue, Hunter Green, Alaskan Wild and Sour Lime.
Bella, Fairy Dust, Maui Sunrise, Florida Orange and Forever 1989.
I had plans to swatch them all then and there. Nick had different ideas. Apparently Brink (latest game he's playing) came out on Friday and hes been experiencing gamer withdrawal since the Playstation Network has been down. So apparently he needed to play Brink on the xbox all day, with the curtains drawn. Our living room is wonderfully bright, but he shuts out all the wonderful light to ensure his picture is better. So I had no natural light to take photos in. I set off to make a light box. hahahaha. Yeah I think I'll buy one...
I need a solution to the problem of a New Zealand Winter and lack of natural sunlight to take photos. So I may just purchase a light box set, with lamps. I think the lighting source was my main problem, too yellow, but I looked for daylight lamps and wow were they expensive. I think it'll work out better just to buy a kit with everything.

My Mum is a Crack Addict

So I'm slowly cutting back on my awful spending habits. It's been over 3 weeks since my awesome NYX polish haulage and I've hardly had any parcels! :(

Although I did splurge on Cherry Culture...no one needs to know about that until the package or maybe packages arrive. Ok so I placed three orders...I have a problem. Two have been shipped and I can't wait to find them on my door step!

Anyway here are the awesometastic bottle shots of the polishes that have 'magically' ended up in my collection this month.

Revlon Emerald City and Powder Puff, BYS Colour Change Purple and Blue

OPI Silver Shatter, Nubar Honeysuckle and China Glaze Techno Teal

Electric Pineapple, Cha Cha Cha and Blue Iguana

Papaya, 108 Degrees and Senorita Bonita
I also bought a bottle of Silver Shatter for my darling mother. It was her birthday after all. My mum is now a crack addict. I gave her my bottle of China Glaze Black Mesh and she loves it. She applies it to everything. Dad on the other hand can't stand it. She was very excited to get Silver Shatter and was going to immediately apply it to the very pretty sparkly red polish she was wearing (NYX Woman). I convinced her to wait though. The red went so well with her outfit!

NYX Haulies

I didn't really break my no buy...These were purchased and arrived a little while ago.

To be honest if I can't remember the exact date....then it doesn't count as breaking my no buy...which has been going so well...hahaha. I'm useless at no buys. Although I haven't ordered anything online for the last 2 weeks. I did however pick up a couple of polishes when I was in Porrirua last week. I really do have to get serious about my no buy though. I just finished paying my wedding dress and veil...and next month I'll have to shell out for the alterations that need to be done. I have been good and resisted most things on my wish list. The only polishes I wont be resisting are the Pirates of the Caribbean ones.

It seems like quite a few people have been buying up NYX Girls polishes lately. I joined that club and placed an order on Cherry Culture when it was 20% off. I ordered 16 polishes...when you're paying for international shipping you have to make it worth it!

Woman, Kinky Pink, Chick lit and Dreamy Glitter

Buzz Worthy, Sunday Afternoon, Gilded Glitter and Carnival.

Algae, Sea of Cortez, Boho and Emerald Forest.

Charcoal Pearl, Robotic, Ink heart and Indigo Blue.
The Nyx Girls polishes come in cute 10ml bottles. I haven't had any problems with the brushes and I'm quite happy with application. I think I managed to get a very nice array of colours but there's still more I'm eyeing up!

I was planning to swatch these over my holidays, but the weather was yuck. Rain and more rain. Winter seems to be hitting. Then I broke my nail. Soon as there's a sunny day and my nail doesn't look quite so stubby I'll swatch these properly! Until then....here's a nail wheel.

Dreamy Glitter, Chick Lit, Kinky Pink, Woman, Sunday Afternoon, Buzz Worthy, Gilded Glitter, Emerald Forest, Boho, Algae, Sea of Cortez, Indigo Blue, Ink Heart, Robotic, Charcoal Pearl and Carnival.

No Buy Check In...

So I'm pretty sure I was supposed to be on a no buy the last couple of weeks.

Lets see how I went!

It started when I needed I Vant A-Lone Star, but I couldn't just order one polish... These were however ordered just before I declared a no buy. So they don't really count...right?

Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em, San Tan-tonio, I Vant To Be A-Lone Star and Catch Me in Your Net.
Then I saw that the BYS colour change polishes were out...so I had to stop in an buy the glitters. Then the Salmon caught my eye and I thought "why not?"

Blue Glitter, Purple Glitter and Salmon
And I haven't kept my Nail Prism obsession secret, so how could I pass up Garnet Lapis, Emerald Amethyst and Purple Diamond LE (hopefully more holo than my version).

Garnet Lapis, Purple Diamond LE and Emerald Amethyst
I didn't really buy these next two over the last 2 weeks, but they arrived on Thursday. ZOMG! Yes that is Octa-gone Wild and How About a Tumble.

How About a Tumble and Octa-gone Wild
These last two lots of polish are my uber naughty ones. These are the polishes I didn't need, weren't really on my wishlist. Yes I wanted them but I hadn't thought about them for awhile...
but I still ordered them. I blatantly ignored the fact I'm supposed to be saving for our wedding, and buying polishes is not as important...but now I've almost finished the 2004 Greek Isles Collection and I have the complete 2008 Retro Fun In The Sun collection. I thought Calling All Goddesses or Cream of Crete might work as a wedding polish...?

Calling All Goddesses, Cream of Crete, Ti-tan Your Toga and It's All Greek To Me.

Give Me A Coral Sometime, Lemonade Stand By Your Man, Sit Under the Apple Tree and See Ya Latter Sailor.
Yup I failed miserably...
It's official I have an online shopping addiction.

How do you go with no buys?
Can you mange to buy no polishes?

Bottle Spam

Over the last two weeks I've been very lucky. I've managed to find polishes at the top of my wishlist, for reasonable-ish prices. Ok, so I totally more than I should have more a couple...but they were still cheaper than what I would have had to pay in New Zealand at retail price. Talking about price of polish in NZ, I noticed yesterday that OPI was over $26. That's crazy.

These are the beauties that have arrived for me to play with over the last two weeks.

You Got Soul-ar, I Always Get My Man-darin, Get Your Lem-on and The :Lime Starts Here.
These were the last few polishes, I didn't originally order from the Wicked Sweet and the Starry Temptress, Color Club collections. To be honest I can see why I didn't order them to start with, but Get You Lem-on and Always Get My Man-darin have some gorgeous shimmer in them. Unfortunately I think they smell like cleaning products. Blah citrus scents.

3D Fantasy, Hyper Haute, Gamer Glam and High Def
Tronicas! I was so excited when these arrived yesterday. I wanted Gamer Glam for Nick, not for him to wear...but so I could dork out and wear it to game with him. lol...yeah. The Tronicas may not be crazy linear holographics but they are pretty and definitely have a 3D effect happening.

Kaleidscope Him Out, He's Going in Circles and Rated Holographic.
I managed to get my hands on six of the China Glaze Holographics before Christmas, Nick gave them to me for Christmas. I've been searching for more ever since. I managed to find 5 more on ebay. Octa-Gone Wild and How About a Tumble are making their way to me from Europe, but these three arrived yesterday! If only I could find Visit Me in Prism...then I'd have the whole set!

DS Sapphire, DS Signature, DS Original, DS Passion and DS Diamond.
These are my first DS polishes. These retail for close to $40 in New Zealand...So I haven't felt the need to purchase the DS polishes before. That is until I googled OPI DS...then I needed them. Original is my most expensive polish to date. It cost me more than my Lippmanns...just...but at $18 it was still cheaper than NZ prices, even if that was US$.

I Juggle...Men, So Many Clowns, So Little Time, Step Right Up and In the Spot-light Pink.
I'm still on the hunt for the perfect wedding polish.I hoped my perfect polish might be in the Femme de Cirque collection from OPI. Gorgeous light shades and a pretty tiny flaked top coat...I just might find the polish I'm looking for! It would help if I had any idea of what I wanted...

Love Your Life, Lets Get Star-ted and Gone Wishin'
Respect the World, It's Possible, Enchantress and Jade in the Shade
I managed to get these Nicole's on ebay in a set, for a reasonable price. I really wanted some more of the novelty glitters and had a serious lemming for Respect the World. As far as I can tell Jade in the Shade is more frosty while Respect the World is sheerer and has more shimmer. I'm looking forward to comparing them in the sun. If we get some sun today!

Through the Looking Glass, Alice's Adventures and Down the Rabbit Hole.
Ocean Breeze, Candy Kisses and Peppermint.
I love that these BYS polishes look more like frankens than something normally produced by polish companies. The first three are special Alice in Wonderland themed polishes and the bottom three are Diamond Shimmers. They're all crazy glittery. Down the Rabbit Hole is my favourite. Awesome black jelly with holo glitter. BYS are very easy to get a hold off in NZ and compared to other polishes, very cheap. The Diamond Shimmers were $5.90 and the Alice in Wonderlands $8.90.

Happy Birthday and Ruby Red Slippers.
Lippmans...drool. Although to be honest I'm not feeling Ruby Red Slippers or Across the Universe. Well not as polishes by themselves. They get too clumpy with all that glitter. They look so much better layered, but that's just my opinion. Happy Birthday is awesome. I needed it even though I have the pink glitter Milani Gems. Happy Birthday is so celebratory.

Tink Pink and Sea of Cortez.
These are the other two polishes I ordered from BB Couture with the four from the Touch of Greece Collection. Tink Pink is supposed to be another option for a wedding polish and I just really wanted Sea of Cortez.

Wow, that is a lot of polish. Luckily I don't have much on order at the moment. I really should do a no buy...but I doubt I'd cope!

I other exciting news I joined the On Wednesdays We Wear Pink club, so on Wednesday I'll be rocking Pink. Love Mean Girls!

Haul!

Yesterday was a bad day. I was still getting over this head cold I had all weekend and it was stinking hot.
The kids lost it by the afternoon...and I thought it was still a good idea to do art?

So they weren't listening, mangaged to accidently spill a whole jar filled with blue dye and while I was sorting out the blue dye, one kid came with blood dripping out his mouth...luckily it was only a tooth! 6 year olds lose them all the time.

The dye went everywhere. All over the birthday girls birthday dress, all over another girls tshirt and then another girl managed to have her foot in the way...bright blue foot!

I guess I have to laugh now, but at the time when all the other kids were being nosey and tryingto but in I just had to yell stop. They've not heard me yell before, I try to stay calm...but they were so noisey I had to do something big to get everyones attention. Right after we had a chat about everyone being positive!

Then we had our staff meeting...Then I rushed home to get home before Nick.

The letter box was empty, the house was a mess and there were two parcels on the back door step. I squealed. I got very very excited. That meant my crackles had arrived!

Crushed Candy, Broken Hearted, Lightning bolt and Cracked Concrete.

First base, Matte about you and Good to go.

Catch the Bouquet and Supernatural. Honest these are very very different!

Monkey Business, In Stitches, Island Hopping and Sew Pysched.

Kisses and Bisses, Nice is Nice, Fondola Gondola and Sand of a Beach.
