Vera’s Manila visit is in the tradition of those by UFC MMA superstars Georges St. Pierre and Chuck Liddel, which proves the growing following of MMA in the country. Says EJ Calvo, PXC promoter and general manager: "We are very fortunate that one of UFC's top MMA fighters, and one of the Philippines' proudest sons, is here to support his fighters for PXC24. We’d like to invite all MMA fans on Thursday, June 9, to come and visit the activity center of SM MOA for them to experience what PXC is all about. They will also have the chance to meet and greet PXC's top fighters—and of course, to meet “TheTruth."
PXC 24, an event presented by San Mig Strong Ice and SMART Communications…special thanks to Beer Below Zero, Healthway Medical, with venue partner Resorts World Manila and Media Partners TV5, AKTV, FHM, 89.1’s Real Sports and Loqal.ph. PXC24 will feature eight exciting MMA fights, including a heavyweight title bout between “The Champ”, Roque Martinez from Guam, taking on the challenger, Kelvin “The Big Hit” Fitial of Saipan. PXC 24 will showcase elite international fighters from Brazil, Korea, California, Florida, Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, and some of the best up-and-coming talents from the Philippines.
PXC has partnered with TV5, one of the most aggressive television stations in the country, to broadcast the events on a regular basis on its new sports channel, AKTV.
